i've been plagued by an awful anxiety and cabin fever lately, not having gone out for leisure for what feels like ages. today i made the brave trek outside of my anchorite hovel in pursuit of a treat. at the mall. i didn't really go there with a particular goal or store in mind. wasting time in the mall is a treat in and of itself. a lot of the stores kind of blend into each other. i went to a good few but really have nothing to share about most of them. shoe store, boutique, shoe store, boutique, shoe store, boutique, ad nauseaum. the ones that stand out from this are still standard mall fodder. notably spencers and hot topic, which are situated right across from each other, quite beautifully. like weenie hut jrs. and super weenie hut jrs.
i went to spencers first, hadn't been there in years. pretty much still how i remember it. it was too cramped for me to bother looking at their jewelry for very long, but i was amused by some of their products. i saw a weed alien incense holder. if you're reading this i most likely need not elaborate. also a bong shaped lava lamp which i can only find second hand photos of online and is only for sale on one site for 90 bucks.

i walked into hot topic not really expecting to find much, but my eyes laser locked onto this tool and the cure t-shirt. come on. i desperately need new clothes and these shirts both have designs based off two of my favorite albums. compounded with the t-shirt 'sale' that hot topic almost always has, i could not resist their allure.

surpisingly pleasant hot topic experience. they expanded their band shirt section which is awesome considering it's the only part of the store i ever find something i'd wanna buy in. it was noticeably less sweaty, anxious, and cramped than it usually is. almost something resembling an actual habitable space, maybe thats giving them too much. i did notice two weirdcore themed t-shirts while checking out, which really made me feel something indescribable.
after the mall i headed to a local asian market in a spur of the moment kind of decision. i hadn't been there since 2019 and was relieved that they were still open and seemingly still doing pretty well. most of the time when i go grocery shopping i have meals in mind, but i hadn't planned to go there when i went out and was worn out and subsequently drawing a complete and utter blank on recipes. i didn't wanna leave empty-handed though, so naturally i got some ramen packets (duck, miso, tonkotsu) and (pre-packaged) brown sugar bubble tea. at last. a fun little drink. my grand outing ends here.
